It's important to us you understand that your data is secure and not shared with anyone without your consent, so we've written our policy in simple language so that you can give your informed consent.

Who We Are
Rumii is owned by Little Beginnings Ltd, a company committed to improving access to psychological support for young people. As such, we understand the importance of protecting your personal data.

We determine why and how your data is processed, using secure UK cloud servers.
What Personal Data Do We Collect?
- Personal data: First name (to personalise your dashboard) and Date of Birth (to confirm digital consent and provide cohort-based insights).
- Location data: GPS is used to understand your time use patterns and emotional wellbeing.
- Motion data: Accelerometer and Apple’s MotionKit data are used to identify physical activity patterns.
- Device usage: Screen Time data is accessed (but not stored) to provide usage insights and limits.
- BLE signals: Bluetooth data estimates social proximity by detecting nearby devices.
- HealthKit data: With your permission, we read step/activity data to enhance wellbeing tracking and future wearable integration.
- Camera: Rear camera is used only for Augmented Reality features. No image data is stored or collected.

Lawful Basis of Processing
We process your data based on your explicit consent, given when you choose to use the Rumii app and its features.
How Do We Protect Your Data?
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Access controls: Only authorised team members access data.
- Security audits: Regular reviews and updates ensure best practices are upheld.
Where Is Your Data Stored?
All data is stored on Microsoft Azure UK cloud servers, which are GDPR and HIPAA compliant.
How Long Do We Keep Your Data?
- Pseudo-anonymised data: Retained while you use the app.
- Anonymised data: Retained for lawful and research purposes.
- Account deletion: You can delete all personal data at any time via the app.
- Aggregated data: Not deletable as it is no longer identifiable.
Who Can See Your Data?
- Just you: Your personal data is only visible to you.
- Rumii team: Only anonymised data is accessed for product development.
- Research partners: Aggregated, untraceable data may be shared to support mental health advancements.
- Paid services:
- If you pay: your data remains private.
- If sponsored: you agree to share aggregated and anonymised data in return.
Your Choices and Controls
- View trends: See your data over time in the app.
- Adjust settings: Manage your privacy preferences.
- Opt-out: Disable specific data features.
- Delete: Remove your account and all personal data (except aggregated).
